Compostable Pod Fertiliser

'COM-PODS'

Student IF Award Submission: Introducing a revolutionary natural fertilizer project utilizing waste wool—a rich source of nitrogen and essential plant nutrients. This eco-friendly alternative reduces reliance on chemical-based products that can cause soil erosion and other environmental issues. With approximately 90% of sheep wool burned annually due to low market value, my solution repurposes this waste while offering a cost-effective option. The wool is wrapped in a seaweed pod designed for easy use with existing farm equipment, providing stability and allowing for the addition of agricultural waste. By lowering food production costs associated with fertilizers, my project supports better profit margins for farmers and aligns with UN goals for sustainable agriculture.
